Do 5 simple things everyday to make India great

Republic day is a significant day when India adopted the constitution on 26th January 1950. A day of celebration of democracy, ideals and love for country and our fellow countrymen.

We all dream of great India and kabhi kabhi na kabhi in school or dramas or plays . we all have heard  the slogan mera bharat mahan……saare jahan se accha Hindustan humara…bharat mata ki jai… it’s always a very spirited experience to hear and say them will all vigor and energy but do we really mean them??

…absolutely yes … after all we all love our country to the core of our heart.

We all dream of India of beautiful cities, green, clean, serene, efficient public services, great prospects of career, hefty remuneration, cool place to chill, safe and free from crime and corruption.

Now the question is what do we do make India a great place to live in and that to each and every day of our lives beginning not some distant day when you are elected Prime Minister of India or get an important position in ministry, bureaucracy or get enrolled in army but starting today and right now.

Here are 5 ways we can start doing, right here ,right now to make India …the India of our dreams

1.Become good at whatever we do

Whatever our profession or career path we have chosen in life,

whether we are a student in college, teacher, writer, Chartered Accountant, shop keeper, a business tycoon, marketer, lawyer, mason, architect, carpenter, engineer, we just need to be good at it.

A great country need a plethora of hardworking, skilled, inspired workforce which can generate world-class products, services and a thriving economy.

So we need to learn the best in class skills of our profession and get better and better at it every day.

Also we need to play whatever roles life deals to us at its appropriate stages.

Lets us strive to be a responsible child to our parents ,a caring parent to our children, a loving spouse to our partner , a supportive sibling, inspiring boss, a diligent employee and a true friend.

Also let us remember our role as a participating citizen of worlds largest democracy.

Lets take active part in decision-making that goes around us, join a political party, professional or student association or other welfare organisations.

All this we though feel should come naturally  but in fact it takes a bit of thought behind it and deliberate effort.

2. Follow the rules of simple citizenship and never ever pay a bribe.

Following some simple rules can make way for a much better disciplined and organized country.

Wear your helmets and seat belts, never drive wrong side, pay our taxes fairly and on time, buy tickets, do not litter are some of them .

And at times it may happen that we may break one of them and get caught doing so, at that time please pay the penalty and get a receipt of that.

The penalty we pay shall go towards nation building, to make better roads, get children educated, for a well equipped armed forces, clean city administration

but if you pay the bribe instead of paying. Our hard-earned money shall go into the pockets of a corrupt official who at the most will buy a gold necklace for his wife.

3.Go Cashless or use cash less

Hard paper money is an instrument of evil and used to hide accountability.

Let us aim to use debit cards, e wallets, internet banking to the maximum. With the available technology it’s as easy to make e-transaction as it is to take out cash from our wallet, pay and collect the change.

By reducing the amount of cash in economy, we can tackle corruption, terrorism, inequality of wealth distribution and other social evils effectively.

4. Exercise, eat &  sleep well

A progressive and healthy individual is the unit and base of a strong nation.

Let’s promise to take care of our health, eat nutritious food, workout well so we can live to our fullest and contribute our dues to the nation well.

5.Respect and Pride

Let’s respect our women, our children, our soldier’s, our workers, our farmers in fact each and everyone and for the sole cause that he is our fellow team India mate.

Thing what would happen to the 12 member Indian cricket team if the players disrespected each other and held themselves superior to the welfare of team as whole.

It is important to play our part well but also to treat our fellow countrymen with respect and fairly.

Let us earn a ton of money but also pay those who work for us fairly.

Speak with courtesy with even our fellow country men coming from all fields of life and not use cuss words.

Do not create biases towards each other just because we grew up at a different place or were born in a different community or religion. India is country of diversity. Lets enjoy it in all its colours.

And above all take pride in your country.

For already we are one of the world largest and fastest growing economies and making great strides of progress everyday. Our scientific, military and economic capabilities are second to none.

We have been blessed by nature with ample flora, fauna and geographical diversity.

It is truly an incredible India.

I end the post here with an inspiring poem from the great seer and poet Rabindranath Tagore

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high
Where knowledge is free
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments
By narrow domestic walls
Where words come out from the depth of truth
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way
Into the dreary desert sand of dead habit
Where the mind is led forward by thee
Into ever-widening thought and action
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake

Jai hind

Vande mataram
